Fit

Redesigned upper compared to the Timp 5: wider toe box, more adaptable, fewer pressure points. Runners coming from the Lone Peak or Superior may still find the volume slightly narrow.

Feel

30 mm EGO Max is soft but not unstable; feel is close to the Torin on road. Not responsive: the focus is protection and comfort over long distances, with a rocker that promotes turnover.

Durability

Vibram Mega Grip outsole rated solid at 150+ miles. Reports of early midsole compression and potential rapid lug wear on hard surfaces. A retailer projects 500+ mile lifespan, but foam durability remains the open question.

Best for

Long trail and ultra on mixed or runnable terrain, wet ground, and wet rock. Not suited for alpine tech, deep mud, or short races where responsiveness matters. Also works on paved connector sections.

Weak points

Weight noted as significant (286–324 g depending on source) in late-race stages. Some runners report reduced proprioception on technical and uneven terrain due to the high stack.
