True to size, medium width: works for most foot shapes. The toe box is roomier than version 1; wide-foot runners should consider going up a half size.

Feel

optiFOAM EVA midsole is firm and responsive, moderate 34/26mm stack: maintains ground contact without isolating. Requires 10–15 miles of break-in before performing at its best.

Durability

Over 150 miles of testing with no significant wear on the upper or Contagrip outsole. The standard EVA midsole is the first component to break down; the Matryx/Kevlar upper rarely shows issues before that point.

Best for

Technical all-mountain trail, from daily runs to ultras on mixed terrain. Not the right call for runners seeking maximum cushioning on long flat distances or for wide feet.

Weak points

Stiff out of the box, requires break-in. Standard EVA is less energetic and less plush than next-generation foams; runners prioritizing prolonged comfort on ultras should look elsewhere.
