Fit

Torpedo-shaped, slim and elongated. True to size for distances up to 4–6 hours; half size up recommended for ultras. Some runners report the posterior collar being stiff and chafing against the Achilles.

Feel

NitroFoam Elite midsole with sharp energy return and plush cushioning. The PWRPlate carbon is present but not aggressive; the plate is felt underfoot at the heel on descents.

Durability

Puma claims 500 miles; the foam shows little degradation after heavy use. The 3 mm lugs are the most uncertain point over the long term.

Best for

Race shoe for light-to-moderate trail, 50K through 100 miles in non-extremely muddy conditions. Not suited for hard technical terrain or deep mud.

Weak points

Stiff posterior collar with chafing on the Achilles and ankle; 3 mm lugs insufficient in deep mud, fine sand, and loose gravel. High price at $230.
