Fit

Torpedo, tapered fit: true to size for efforts up to 4–6 hours, half size up recommended for ultras. Wide platform in the forefoot, structured and fairly stiff heel.

Feel

NitroFoam Elite delivers pronounced bounce and soft cushioning with good responsiveness. The PWRPlate carbon is present but not aggressive; some runners feel direct plate pressure under the heel on descents.

Durability

Puma claims 500 miles. The foam shows little wear even after significant mileage; the 3 mm lugs are a question mark over the long term.

Best for

Race shoe for light-to-moderate trail: optimal at 50K, usable up to 50–100 miles on non-extreme terrain. Works on dirt, gravel, and road-to-trail transitions. Not suited for deep mud or technical rocky terrain.

Weak points

Ankle collar is stiff and abrasive: rubs against the Achilles and the front of the ankle, especially on long efforts. 3 mm lugs insufficient on sandy terrain or steep climbs.
