True to size, with updated width versus the EX2: +4% in the forefoot and +15% at the heel. The toe box provides adequate room; runners who typically size up a half size can stay with their regular size.

Feel

EVA cushioning with a noticeable 8 mm drop, no plate. Smooth, flexible ride; the heel is higher than the Pro version but does not feel unstable on varied terrain.

Durability

Wear data limited to approximately 120 km. Upper and overlays hold up well; Vibram Megagrip outsole with 4 mm lugs shows minimal wear but is not designed for deep mud.

Best for

All-around trail shoe on mixed terrain, from forest to wet rocky singletrack. Suited to middle and long distances. Not optimal in heavy mud due to reduced lug depth.

Weak points

The 8 mm drop is distinctly noticeable, more pronounced than shoes with similar stated values. Some sources report that on the EX2 version the shoe tended to run long and the lacing system had a learning curve.
