Fit

Exceptionally wide toe box (103 mm measured), allows full toe splay. Runs large: half size down recommended.

Feel

Maximum cushioning with dense, firm EGO Max foam — not soft. True zero drop (0 mm); fatigues calves during the first few runs. No meaningful energy return, no carbon plate.

Durability

Vibram Mega Grip shows minimal wear past 100 km; outsole projected >500 km. Exposed midsole at center: vulnerable to sharp rocks and branches. Traditionally stitched upper, more robust than previous versions with thin mesh.

Best for

Ultra-distance and groomed trail (doubletrack, packed surfaces). Suitable for hiking and active recovery. Not suited to technical terrain, mud, or rocks: 3.5–4 mm lugs don't shed mud, and the exposed midsole risks punctures.

Weak points

High weight (12.5–15.5 oz depending on size): unanimous across all sources. Exposed midsole with no rubber coverage: punctures from rocks and branches reported. On technical terrain, the high stack creates instability.
