Fit

Wide, anatomical toebox; tends to run long by a half size. Heel hold is improved over previous models but requires a lacing lock for narrow feet.

Feel

Dual-density midsole (Ego Max + Ego Pro) is soft at easy paces and progressively propulsive as pace increases. The Carbitex Monoflex plate is noticeable only at faster efforts; ground feel remains present.

Durability

Vibram outsole shows low wear past 120 km; outsole estimated to last up to 600 km. Some units show heel delamination and wear on the upper's plastic overlays within the first few kilometers.

Best for

Race and hard-training shoe for trail, optimal on runnable courses at mid-to-long distances and ultramarathons. Works well on pavement; not ideal for deep mud or highly technical terrain.

Weak points

Forefoot lockdown is suboptimal: excess material creates folds and makes it difficult to dial in the right balance between downhill hold and uphill numbness. Value for money questioned by multiple sources in light of upper durability issues.
