Fit

Wide in the forefoot, slightly long: runners doing shorter distances may want to size down a half size. For long distances, true size recommended to account for swelling.

Feel

Soft at easy paces, propulsive as speed increases. The EGO Pro/EGO Max combination with Carbitex plate delivers a balanced ride: cushioning without losing ground feel.

Durability

Vibram Megagrip outsole shows minimal wear past 120 km. Midsole estimated to last up to 600 km, but some units show heel delamination and deterioration of the upper's plastic components within the first few hundred kilometers.

Best for

Race shoe for medium-to-long trail distances and ultras on runnable terrain. Also works on asphalt in mixed-surface segments. Not optimal in deep mud or highly technical terrain.

Weak points

Forefoot lockdown is subpar, especially on descents. Some runners question long-term upper durability and feel the price-to-quality ratio is not justified by the level of fit and finish.
