Fit

Generous fit in the forefoot, more overall volume than previous versions. Secure midfoot and heel lockdown thanks to serrated laces, gusseted tongue, and strategic padding.

Feel

Plush cushioning with Dream Foam (37/31 mm stack, 6 mm drop); smooth, responsive ride on flat and moderately technical sections. On rocky and technical terrain, the wide platform and softness reduce precision and ground connection.

Durability

After 40+ miles, the Surface Ctrl rubber outsole (3.5 mm lugs) shows wear only on the forefoot lugs; considered more durable than previous versions.

Best for

Ultra race shoe for moderate to runnable terrain (Western States–type courses). Not ideal on highly technical, rocky descents where precise foot placement is required.

Weak points

Some reviews note irritation/blistering on the medial forefoot — an issue known from the Pro 1 and absent in the Pro 2. The wide platform and softness compromise precision on highly technical terrain.
