Fit

Slim last, narrower than traditional Altra models but still wider than the category average. Good lockdown once the foot is in; the non-gusseted tongue makes entry awkward.

Feel

Generous cushioning with super-critical Ego Pro foam at 36 mm stack in a zero-drop configuration. The pronounced rocker and full-length carbon plate deliver a propulsive, not flat, sensation with a solid pop at forefoot contact.

Durability

Version 2 corrects the structural issue from v1, where the outsole broke down after 10–20 km. At 20 miles the v2 outsole remains intact according to multiple sources. Realistic estimate: 300–400 km, below the category average.

Best for

Race day and fast-workout shoe for zero-drop runners. Suited to those needing stability on courses with turns or elevation change, and to runners who don't find conventional supershoes responsive due to forefoot width.

Weak points

The $260 price point is considered steep relative to direct competition. No heel pull tab makes the shoe difficult to put on; some runners report Achilles irritation with low-cut socks.
