Fit

Built on a slim Footshape last, narrower than other Altra models but with ample room across the metatarsals. True to size; some runners report heel slippage and Achilles irritation depending on sock type.

Feel

Soft, bouncy cushioning with 36 mm of Ego Pro underfoot, zero drop. The rocker aids transition, but at easy paces the shoe demands extra calf engagement; propulsion is noticeable only at faster tempos.

Durability

Full rubber outsole: a clear improvement over v1, which showed significant wear by 20 km. On v2 the outsole remains intact past 20 km of testing; total expected mileage not yet quantified by available sources.

Best for

Zero-drop runners looking for a road or mixed road/dirt race shoe, also suitable for threshold sessions and road ultramarathons given the combination of long-run comfort and stable platform.

Weak points

Energy return falls short of top PEBA super shoes; the heel collar irritates the Achilles without tall socks. Price at €260 is perceived as steep relative to direct competition.
